ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
When a tooth’s nerve is irreversibly damaged due to infection or extensive decay, a root canal can be performed to “save” your tooth. The tooth will likely require a crown be placed for strength and integrity of the tooth-to-restoration seal so that your root’s health is protected. Root canals have long since had a bad reputation, however, with newer techniques the process has become reliable and comfortable. Often, a regimen of antibiotics combined with anti-inflammatory medications is required before and through the root canal process to aid in better anesthesia and bacterial control. The cost of a root canal on an otherwise healthy tooth is often a less expensive option than the total costs to extract a tooth and restore the space with an implant or bridge. We will discuss all of your options so that you are able to make the best informed decision. |
