Our office utilizes both traditional and digital x-ray techniques so that we have the best films to evaluate your dental health. Digital x-rays expose a patient to less radiation and allow us to show you your x-rays on our computer screen so you can better see and understand our diagnosis. We use the most advanced film with our traditional x-ray method that also reduces radiation exposure.

INTRAORAL CAMERA

We use a handheld digital camera to take pictures of your teeth as an additional diagnostic and educational tool.  We can then view these photos together and discuss why and what treatments are recommended to achieve oral health.

BITE EVALUATION

This involves assessing tooth alignment, wear patterns, jaw relationships, TMJ joint and muscle conditions, and fracture patterns.  This aids in evaluating why certain symptoms and dental problems have arisen.  Often, a combination of orthodontic and restorative dentistry is the most conservative approach that will result in the best long term stabilization of your joints, teeth, and bite.

See your dentist twice a year for complete check-ups.

If you see a periodontist, you will still need to see a general dentist twice a year to check for all other dental needs.

PERIODONTAL EXAM

A thorough analysis of gum health and bone support is performed.  A healthy support system for your teeth is imperative for long term tooth retention. Your diagnosis will determine the type of cleaning that is necessary.

 TISSUE EVALUATION

Your tissues are examined for cancer, infection, or abnormal growths.  The mouth is an indicator of overall health, so it is important that any changes be caught early.
